Kyle’s love for soccer began at a young age when he joined his first recreational team in Ocala, Florida. He continued playing locally after his family relocated to Nashville, Tennessee which led him to join a traveling club team at the age of nine. With his father as the coach, the club organized a competitive team in Nashville. He would eventually join a successful club, the Brentwood Wolverines, winning four Division I state championships and over fifty regional tournament competitions. Kyle also played for his high school varsity team, Franklin High School, serving as captain his Junior and Senior years and assisting them to the school’s first state semifinal appearance. He finished his playing career at Carson-Newman College, earning a starting position all four years as well as assisting the team in achieving two conference titles, the school’s first of two NCAA Elite Eight appearances, and their first NCCAA Division II number one national ranking.
It wasn’t until his junior year in high school that Kyle understood the purpose for his love for soccer in his life. Attending a youth group summer camp through The People’s Church in Panama City, Florida Kyle accepted Christ as his Savior on Tuesday, July 29, 1997. He recalls the experience as transformational, molding his desires and dreams to seeking the glory of God through Jesus Christ. From that time he has continued to seek God’s Lordship in his life which eventually led him toward pursuing vocational ministry.
Pursuing God passionately in college, he met the most extraordinary woman he had then or has since ever met, Tessa Huckaby. Her passion for God and serving Him wholeheartedly challenged and strengthened Kyle and together they soon realized that God planned for them to be a lifelong team together. They married on May 28, 2005 in Nashville and moved to Charleston, South Carolina to begin their new life together. From Charleston God led them to seek full-time ministry. Kyle’s heart for the nations and Tess’ desire to serve in the inner city gave way to numerous opportunities to serve worldwide. God unexpectedly called them both back to Nashville where Kyle joined Ultimate Goal Ministries in 2006.
